Pamela’s journey into the world of barefoot trimming
started with a Thoroughbred diagnosed with navicular syndrome in 2002.
She did not like the usual prognosis and outcome of conventional
treatments and so she started to research what else could be done to
help this mare. Her investigations led her to barefoot trimming, which
in turn started a passion of learning how better to help horses to live
healthier and longer lives.
Pamela has been trimming her own 5 horses since 2003
and became a professional trimmer in 2007. Not being satisfied with the
resources available to her, she enrolled with and obtained certification
from Equine Soundness.
Between 2004 to 2011 she managed Dr. Steven Skinner’s
Barefoot Rehabilitation Center for Equines in Sherwood, OR.
Pamela was a 4H leader for 20 years in a local horse
group. She loves teaching and interacting with children and horses.
Along with the barefoot hoof
care Pamela has a strong interest in horse nutrition and clicker
training.
She embraces teaching and working with horse owners to help achieve the
best they can do for their equine partners.
