Christina Martin

Christina has been shoeing and trimming her own horses since 1998.

When she learned about the barefoot trim, she got hooked and just had to know more. After a year of intense study of anatomy, pathology, and the physiology and function of the healthy hoof at the International Center for Equine Arts she graduated in 2003.

Today she dedicates her time to trimming, selling treeless saddles, and looking after guests on their small ranch in Deadman Valley, in the Interior of British Columbia, Canada.

The rocky, semi-arid environment, harsh gravel roads, icy winters and desert-like summers pose unique challenges to the bare hoof, but her clientele of ranchers and trail riders has, with Christina's guidance, overcome them all.

Christina's horses live a true wild horse life style, and if there was ever any lingering doubt if today's' horses can thrive in a harsh climate, on their own, without barn, blankets, daily dewormer and 'complete' feed in shiny bags, come have a look at her herd!

Christina furthers her education where and whenever she can, being always fascinated by new developments in barefoot hoof care.
